Queensland College of Art, Southbank, Brisbane

Undertaken as Project Architect and Practice Director for BVN with Donovan Hill (architects in association).

Griffith University’s new Queensland College of Art development integrates a refurbished existing building with new buildings and spaces in the inner city at Southbank. This complex project also required integration with the ‘Southbank Urban Renewal Program’ including adherence to strict development controls on height, street alignment and pedestrian connections. The design takes advantage of the high profile and publicly accessible location by establishing a strong, identifiable presence, contemporary sub-tropical character and easy access to the colleges’ public and semi-public activities.
